Lowell Pride Presents “Proud to be Your Neighbor” Pride Celebration


Lowell, MI (May 19, 2023) – The following is a statement from the Board of Lowell Pride, a community organization working to advance LGBTQIA+ rights and an inclusive, welcoming local community.


Lowell Pride is back for the third year in a row and ready to celebrate on Saturday June 3rd that we are “Proud to be Your Neighbor”. This day will be an opportunity for the people in and around Lowell to come together and show kindness, respect, and support for the LGBTQIA+ community. 


The day will feature a full slate Main Stage events including: a Kid’s dance party, an intro to Tai Chi led by community member Gerald Browning, Rising in Pride keynote by Grace Harkema, a Pride Walk, poetry readings from both experienced and new authors in the community, and kid crafts and games in the Kid’s zone. Off-stage events include Affinity Groups for individuals in and parents with kids in the LGBTQIA+ community, as well as individuals within TTRPG Gaming, neurodivergent, and queer Christian community and booths from over 70 local and small-business vendors.

Lowell Pride is a community organization with a board of local and regional leaders including its founding board members: Nicole Lintemuth, Shannon Hanley, Paula Patterson, and Michael Lowery, seasoned member Erin Foltz, and welcoming Chelsey Liu and Elizabeth Vanderhoef to the board this year.
